Towards the tail end of Governor Mimiko's tenure, the Ondo State speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele had been suspended over the allegation of financial misconduct and fraud.

Hon. Jumoke Akindele was suspended last friday in an emergency plenary session for the allegation of withdrawing 15 million naira from the State Assembly account without the knowledge of the House members.

You will recall that the suspended speaker played prominent roles in the purported impeachment process of the ex- deputy Governor of the State, Alhaji Ali Olanusi in April last year.
