Before His death, He was the Chiarman, Body of Benchers. He was conferred the rank of Seniour Advocate of Nigeria on 16th July, 1990.

Chief Aiku was born on the 18th day of August, 1936. He was called to the English Bar in 1963. He was a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme court of Nigeria for over 50 years and the principal partner of Bandele Aiku & Co., one of the leading law firm in the country with head office in Ibadan, Oyo State since 1964.
Chief Aiku was born in Ijebu-Jesa, Headquarters of the present Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State.
Before his death, Chief Bandele Aiku was the Commissioner for works and Housing and later commissioner for works and Housing between 1975 and 1977 in the then Western and old Oyo States of Nigeria. He was also the Attorney General and Commissioner for justice between 1977 and 1979.
Chief Aiku was noted for his meticulous and uncompromising attitudes to work, a fact that sets him high in his profession. He was also noted for his thorough and dexterous political influence among south western lawyers forum.
