Unknowingly behind the scenes, Davido had to battle with issues following his record deal with the Sony Music. In January 2017, the DMW’s boss announced how he managed to rework his deal’s terms with the giant music producer c*m marketer, explaining under the new terms, he would be allowed to sing the way he wanted.
And now, the Omo baba Olowo has taken to Instagram to explain how he had to fight to make the kind of music he was comfortable with. He also revealed his new song “If” is now the biggest in Africa.
In the video shared, American musician, Omarion was seen dancing to his latest song If and in the caption, Davido reveals that in 2016, ‘they’ wanted him to change his sound, saying staying true to his culture wouldn’t work for him outside Africa. In this case, ‘they’ might mean his record label Sony Music.
